Open source software for simulation and modeling

The project OpenSIMPLY is an open source software for computer simulation based on discrete event simulation (DES) approach. The source code is compatible with the syntax of Object Pascal compilers such as Delphi and Free Pascal including Lazarus as an additional IDE.

The kernel of OpenSIMPLY uses minimum system specific components, and is working in the terminal (console) mode. The upper layers of the project uses GUI features, which functionality can be varied for different operation systems and platforms.

OpenSIMPLY is free software. It can be used according to the terms of GNU General Public License GPLv3 and GNU Free Documentation License FDLv1.3. Non free software (libraries) can limit some graphical features (like chart features) in OpenSIMPLY demos or examples.

The components of OpenSIMPLY are flexible and expandable for any purposes to use them for system simulation. The project can be successfully used as scientific modeling software. The execution of the simulation model with OpenSIMPLY is quite fast to receive a number of simulation points in a short time. This advantage of the the project can be used for real time simulation.

OpenSIMPLY has automatically formatted output for console and GUI (graphical application) modes. The routines for results outputting are flexibly configurable for individual and structured data in suitable form as for GUI as well as for console mode. This is great for saving of scientific research results.



OpenSIMPLY tutorial contains the practical examples with detailed description. All of them are ready to compile.

The project documentation is available in different formats and compatible with any IDE.
